March 6, 2013 (Sag Harbor, NY) - Bay Street Theatre has announced the 2013 Mainstage Season and has announced a local audition date for LEND ME A TENOR, THE MYSTERY OF IRMA VEP and A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM and for Literature Live’s production of THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK this fall. Equity Principal and Non Equity Auditions will be held at Bay Street Theatre on Saturday, March 23 from 10am - 2pm. Bay Street is located on the Long Wharf in Sag Harbor on the corner of Bay and Main Streets. No phone calls please. Local actors with housing are strongly encouraged to attend. The New York City auditions are listed with each of the show details below.
Those who are auditioning for a dramatic role should prepare:
1. A brief comedy monologue under 2 minutes in length
Those who are auditioning for a musical role should prepare:
1. 16 bars of an up-tempo song.
2. Bring sheet music in correct key; accompanist provided but may not transpose.
Auditioning actors should bring a picture and resume, stapled together. Please stipulate if you have housing or residence on the East End of Long Island.

Senex: An older man, henpecked husband of Domina but one still attracted to wine, women, and song.
Domina: battle-ax wife of Senex, Domina is not only domineering, but proud.
Hero: a lovesick juvenile
Philia: virginal girl, beautiful and young, yet dumb
Hysterium: A slave of Senex and Domina, Hysterium is the frantic and frenetic straw boss of all the slaves in the household.
Lycus: The owner of the brothel. Snaky, slimy, lecherous procurer of courtesans.
Erronius: A befuddled old man who is partially blind and always confused.
Miles Gloriosus: A roman soldier, handsome, strong—and pompous, so much so that he proudly declares.
